Be inclusive at networking events

If you notice someone alone at a networking event, invite them to join the group you are talking with. When the person joins your group smile, nod, make eye contact, and help them feel comfortable. Fill them in on what's being discussed (if appropriate), and then let the person who was talking continue.

If you're more inclusive you'll find that others will follow your lead and be more inclusive, and networking will be that much easier for everyone.
