Law Practice Tip #301

April 29, 2013

Catch up with people you haven't seen in years

If you haven't seen or spoken to someone (a past client, good referral source, or a person of influence) for a few years, use the following script and kinds of questions to check in with them:.

  • "We haven't talked for a while. What's changed in your life/business/practice?" or
  • "What's new or important in your life?" or
  • "I'd sure like to know what you've been doing, why don't you bring me up to date?"

Don't be embarrassed that you don't know; just be friendly and catch up.

Who should you catch up with? What kind of questions will you ask to help you catch up?
