Master small talk by being curious

If you find it difficult to engage in small talk at networking events, just remember to be curious. Donít worry about talking about yourself; just have some open-ended questions ready to find out more about the person youíre talking to.

  • What do they you like about ________?
  • What brings you to this event?
  • What challenges are you facing in your practice?
  • What do you like to do outside of work?

Arrive with questions in mind that relate to the event you are attending.

What kinds of curious questions will you use at your next networking event?
